I have always been facilitated by plain air painting. Being in nature and capturing the beauty of the environment around you always seemed so perfect. For many years, I have tried plain air painting, but I seemed to run into obstacles like weather, supplies, and timing.

I love books. As an artist, this statement may seem counterintuitive for someone who spends most of my days with a paintbrush in hand, but books feed creativity.

In this third installment of The Story Behind the Art, I am sharing the tale of Buddy, one of my rescue pups. As I’ve stated in my prior blog posts, I am a dedicated animal lover and have spent most of my adult life either working as an animal shelter volunteer or a foster parent to homeless pets.
